Essential Links in February 2024
What a month. There was a lot to do. I travelled across Germany a few times, went to the Scrumtisch in Cologne, moved from mastodon.social to indieweb.social. I read a lot and at the middle of the month I got back into running again (at least 42km in February). My left foot still hurts, somewhen I need to see a doctor. I had two free days in Berlin this time, visiting friends and enjoying the beautiful city. And I missed finishing my article for Manu's IndieWeb Carnival. Buh!
Tomorrow I will travel to China. First time since 2017. I am looking forward to meet my colleagues there and spend some time in this beautiful country. But there were a lot of publications last month. Here you go:
- Alex Osterwalder's thoughts on why innovation often struggles (LinkedIn)
- Here is a great overview on how you build a ux research practice from scratch.
Agile and Scrum
- There is a beautiful piece of writing on Sprint Planning out there by Dave West (CEO of scrum.org) on the Atlassian website.
- A system thinking view on sacrificing quality for time-to-market.
Building teams & organisations
- The psychology behind a feedback culture?
- What happens if you accidentally become a community event organizer?
- Here are some habits of curious people. Love it.
- Franziska Hauck creates one of the best reports on software development, talents and locations for 2023 (medium.com).
The open web
- POSSE means Publish Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere. Manu explains the concept.
- Guestbooks seem to become the thing, but I don't know why. There was a time, where comment functions spawned discussions. Then there was a time, where comment functions became spam. Now people only share their opinion. Where does dialogue happen? The fediverse?
