This post is an advertisement. Kind of. On a recommendation by Marc Thiele, I bought and read The Pocket Photographer. A tiny, little book on how to shoot nice photos with your smartphone. It doesn't say which type of smartphone, though. Just any will do. It's by Mike Kus.

Opening the book you soon get the impression that Mike loves taking photos. Beautiful pictures show & tell the knowledge he wants to bring across. His book separates photography into 7 paragraphs. Each paragraph highlights a single photographic concept: Composition, light, focal length, sharpness, creativity, low light and liveliness. Each paragraph contains inspirational photos used as example.
With the absence of technology, objectives, camera types and brands he shows that photos are made by people, not cameras. Love the book. Worth the read.
